Yung Cox

Yung Cox, born Dylan Cox in Springfield, MO in 1992, started rapping in 2007. The first song he freestyled was the locally famous "Lil Cox Introduction". At the time his "stage name" was Lil Cox. After debate, he changed the name to Young Cox, which then transformed into Yung Cox. Yung Cox has gone by many stage names; Lil Cox, Young Cox, Yung Cox, Lil Tyke, New Jack Money, but he always ends up back at Yung Cox. After many attempts to change the name, and not following through, Dylan named his label Yung Cox Productions.

In the summer of 07' Yung Cox formed a group with Joe the Show and Fuzz. The group was called "Three Shot" and performed one song, "Clik Clak" the song disbanded over time, never again talking about rapping as "Three Shot". The group then went on to form a label from a label. They took the unknown Yung Cox Productions and overnight made it the GarageBeats it is today. Planning, writing, stress, and mental strength was the summer of 07' for the three of them. Night after night, they would work on songs, or work to build up the GarageBeats label. 

The three of them turned GarageBeats inside out, from a 3 person label, to nearly a dozen today. Yung Cox has performed with everybody on the label, Flo Sheezy, Lil Nick, C-Dizzle aka Collie Pollie, Lil Boy, Tank, Skittles aka Bulldog, Joe the Show, Fuzz, Jordan Robson, and Thazz Dogg.

Yung Cox has inspired many locals to do what they want, he allows people to come to his home based studio, record, or whatever, for free. He likes seeing people do what makes them happy, even if others don't agree. And, Yung Cox, definitely knows what it's like to be in the position to know when people don't agree with what your raps are about or rapping, at that. His controversial lyrics always get him in a bind, the people don't agree with him using derogatory words or demeaning words, but it's art, it's music, and to Yung Cox, it's the only thing he's good at.
